ISN-GKHA (Atlas): Gaps in and Opportunities for Optimal Kidney Care in low-resource settings

Approximately 850 million people are affected by CKD worldwide. The global burden of kidney failure is significant due to high treatment costs and extensive impacts on the health and well-being of people living with kidney disease. The ISN–Global Kidney Health Atlas (ISN–GKHA) uncovered large variations in access to treatment and characteristics of treatment delivery (e.g., quality indicators, funding mechanisms) across ISN regions and World Bank income groups.
Learning objectives:
- To understand and compare how resource-limited countries detect, treat, monitor, and advocate for people with kidney disease (AKI or CKD)
- To Identify gaps in kidney care in these countries according to the 6 essential health care elements defined by WHO
- To identify opportunities to close these gaps
